” My family and I (wife and 2 children aged 10 and 7) had a fantatsic time at Villa Petra.
The villa was spotless upon arrival and it was really useful to have a contact to meet and greet us when we arrived. I cannot speak highly enough of the villa itself It was immaculate, and extremely well equipped. It was ideal for al fresco dining with the use of the barbeque and the vast array of outdoor furniture.
The balcony outside the master bedroom provided a great place to have a drink and take in the view of the nearby coast and mountains. The pool was excellent, we spent alot of time in it with our children and the games room including table tennis and tabble football was great fun.
There were plenty of leaflets, guide books etc to help us decide on our activities whilst in Cyprus, this was much appreciated. The air conditioning was extremely effective and essential in August.
The Villa is situated in an ideal location. Just 500 metres from Droussia village centre which had a couple of taverns and small shops. With the villa being slightly higher up in the hills we found that the breeze refreshing whilst the temperature was high.
Polis just about 10km down the road provided an excellent supermarket where you can fantastic fresh produce at really low prices. There is also a lovely beach just next to the campsite in Polis with a nice beach bar.
We had a hire car and travelled about as much as we could, some lovely places to visit:-
- Petra Tou Romiou (Aphrodites rock)
- Pomos Harbour – Fish restaurants overlook the harbour with the mountains as a backdrop.
- Coral bay – beautiful sandy beach
- Kathikas village
- Lara Bay (this is fairly inaccessible unless you have a jeep, we got close to it but the track got to bumpy for the hire car to take)
- Outskirts of Pafos for some great Taverns and Cypriot kebab restaurants.
- Agios Georgious – Beautiful church overlooking a small harbour, great for snorkelling.
All in all we had a fantastic experience and will definately be coming back next year with friends to make the most of the 4 bedrooms. I will be hiring a 4 wheel drive next time as some of the best beaches are around the Akamas peninsula which is unaccessible in a normal car.
I would recomend this to any family who likes to be have their own space away from the masses but close enough to lots of fantastic places from villages, towns to beaches and mountains. Perfect!!

“Our family stayed at this beautiful villa for 3 weeks between August and September. We were surprised how large and airy it was with ample room for our large family.
The villa was spotlessly clean and very well managed. The villa is modern and tastefully furnished; the owners have clearly though of everything.
We really enjoyed our stay, the Villa was really super and the pool was lovely and clean. We enjoyed it so much that we actually stayed an extra week!
From the villa you have beautiful views and one of the great things about the village of Droushia is that unlike other coastal town, there is virtually no humidity so we found it very comfortable particularly at night as we were able to sleep without air-conditioning. ”

Villa Petra is a great place to stay, we’ve been there twice now, once with family and once on our own. Both times it was lovely, and the elevation means that you can escape the red hot heat of the coast, as there is a nice cool breeze that means it is just the right temperature for eating outside.
There is loads of space both inside and out, and we had great fun on both the ping pong and fussball tables. It’s clean and bright, just what you would expect from a holiday let like this, but it really is the space that is available that makes it feel different to other places we have stayed.
It’s also in a great spot on the island, far away from the built up areas, but close enough to the charming little towns of Polis and Latchi, where you can find a whole host of local restaurants. If you want to cook for yourself (which we mostly did) the supermarket in Polis is brilliant, lots of fresh local fruit and veg and all very cheap. We loved having fresh pittas and hummus for lunch every day!
There is also lots to do round and about, as this is a very unspoilt part of the island, a lot of the roads to the west are just dirt tracks which are great to explore on mountain bikes or even hire dirt buggies There are also local vineyards that will show you around, or obviously the great beaches at Latchi and further along the coast.
Also highly recommended is Lara bay and the Avakas gorge which feels like something out of Indiana Jones and has to be seen to be believed! Although if you are going to walk all the way up it make sure you take lots of water!
We will definitely be coming to Villa Petra again. The host, Pawel, was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the local area, and is a really nice guy to boot!
